Contract for the American Dream

Join Us in a National Conversation about the New Contract for the American Dream!

We're putting our heads together to choose the best ideas for a plan to create an economy that works for ALL of us—a new "Contract for the American Dream."

At the Iowa Citizen Action we know that real people have better ideas for how to fix our economy than do the Wall Street bankers and corporate CEOs.

And to prove it, we're teaming up with MoveOn.org and others in a new movement to Rebuild the Dream to turn all our good ideas and real understanding into a progressive plan for fixing the economy.

Real people all across the country have been weighing in to build a contract that can put our neighbors back to work, restore our faith in our country and economy, and renew the promise of America for the next generation.

Next Friday at 11:00 am, we'll share the results of your feedback on this new Contract for an American Dream at a house meeting at the Mickle Center at 1620 Pleasant St in Des Moines, please RSVP.

Join us for pizza and discussion of issues that matter and our national priorities. Come and share your personal story, hear from local community members, and participate in a national conversation about the new Contract for the American Dream.

This will also be a great opportunity to make a sign or two to take to the Peoples March on Terrace Hill the next day, July 16th at 2:00 pm. (More information.)

There will be American Dream house meetings hosted by people like you across the country. So if you can’t make it to Des Moines, you can still join in! Can you help build the movement by hosting a house meeting? Sign up to host a meeting.

ICAN is hosting a house meeting at the Mickle Center at 1620 Pleasant St. in Des Moines at 11:00 am on Friday, July 15th – we will provide pizza so please RSVP.

Make your voice heard in Friday’s small group discussion, and amplify it by joining hundreds of Iowans at the Governor’s mansion on Saturday afternoon with a sign that expresses your unique viewpoint!

Together, we'll Rebuild the Dream
