Working Families Call For Good Jobs Now, Tell Big Wall Street Banks To Pay

On Thursday, March 18, working families joined together at Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney to demand good jobs now. America needs 11 million jobs and big Wall Street banks should pay to rebuild jobs and the economy they helped destroy. Since the recession began, America has lost nearly 9 million jobs when we needed to create more than 2 million just to stay even.

Sue Dinsdale and Amy Logsdon attended the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor-AFL-CIO jobs informational picket outside the Principal building in downtown Des Moines. This building houses Smith Barney, Bank of the West, and many more big bankers! Passers-by received literature and drive-time traffic provided a soundtrack of many, many supporting honks.

Labor folks from the Fed, CWA, Steelworkers, and others were joined by ICAN, Iowa CCI and other local activists.
