December 16 – 20, 2019
Ignoring overwhelming opposition from the American people, Congress passed the GOP Tax Scam — giving massive tax breaks to millionaires and wealthy corporations at the expense of middle-class families. This Christmas, Tax March Iowa will remind our elected officials that the GOPTaxScam is NO GIFT to Iowans! We are tired of a tax code that only benefits the wealthy and we’re sounding the alarm that after two years this law is still a failure.
Use this toolkit to spread the word about our actions, and help talk about how the GOP Tax Scam has prioritized corporate profits over the needs of everyday Americans.

Most Important to Know:
- December 16th: Listing Session — Tax March Iowa will kick off the week with a listening session at the Des Moines Office of Junior Senator Joni Ernst. We’ll hear from spokespeople from all different jobs, regions, and walks of life who will remind Senator Ernst that the tax law does not work for them, and call on her to fix it.
- Follow along with us on our Facebook and Twitter.
- December 17th: Press Conference and Postcard Party — Join us at 12:30PM as we host a press conference at RAYGUN, 1028 3rd St SE, Ste 2, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52401, near the Cedar Rapids Office of Junior Senator Joni Ernst, where we will hear from spokespeople from across the state to reiterate that we must repeal and replace the tax law.
- Over the past few weeks we have collected over 500 postcards from Iowans to Senator Ernst, relating their displeasure of the Trump Tax she defends.
- We’ll have hot cocoa, cookies and a sing-a-long as well as dramatic readings from the postcards.
- We plan to deliver the postcards to the Senator and talk about the negative impacts of the tax law. Merry Christmas!
- The official hashtag will be#2YearTaxTerror with supporting hashtags being #GOPTaxScam and #TaxTheRich
